This year’s annual meeting of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine had quite a kick-off last night with a very memorable opening ceremomy highlighted by film footage from “The Incredible Journey” a flash back into 1960’s movie making! Thank goodness Steve Job’s came along and invented PIXAR! But, it was interesting to hear various “big names” in Reproductive Medicine discuss their dreams for reproductive health. Many were aimed at curing infertility and also with manufacturing gametes from someones own DNA. Not cloning, but building an egg from a woman and a sperm for a man.
Today’s highlights have included lots of information on same sex couples and the legal and medical issues surrounding their unique situation in the reproductive world. Tomorrow, more on egg freezing.
